Bandhouse Gigs, founded in 2004 by local Bethesda musicians and producers Ronnie Newmyer, Chuck Sullivan, David Sless and Danny Schwartz, is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization that brings together the Washington area’s most talented artists to pay tribute to the world’s most iconic musicians and musical moments. Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, The Band, Warren Zevon, Allen Toussaint, The Byrds, and Nick Lowe are just some of the songwriters that have been celebrated in concert, their songs interpreted in often surprising, always inspired ways. Bandhouse Gigs' tribute to the music of Woodstock (August 2009) carried the collective performances to even greater heights.  Last August the group produced two nights of shows honoring the British Invasion.  A key mission of the shows is to introduce attendees to the abundance of musical talent in the DC community.

In many of the Bandhouse Gigs productions, hundreds of DC area musicians, engineers, producers and technicians have gathered in now 13 tribute shows, entertaining concert-goers by the thousands at such stellar venues as the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD, the Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. and Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis.  Bandhouse Gigs has also staged benefits for ailing DC musicians and supports grassroots charities such as Hungry for Music, working to bring positive musical and creative experiences to underprivileged children.
